Pneumocystis Jirovecii Nucleic Acid Detection Kit
  • Introduction

    Pneumocystis jirovecii (P. jirovecii) is a conditional pathogen that parasitizes in the lungs. It often infects immunocompromised patients with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), organ transplantation, and hematological malignancies, etc., causing Pneumocystis pneumonia (PCP). The clinical manifestations of PCP are non-specific. Most patients manifest with fever as first symptom, followed by symptoms as chest tightness, shortness of breath, dry cough with less sputum, and dyspnea. The progression is rapid and the mortality rate is high.

     

  • Usage

    This kit is used for the qualitative detection of Pneumocystis jirovecii nucleic acid in alveolar lavage fluid samples. It uses nucleic acid amplification method to detect Pneumocystis jirovecii for auxiliary diagnosis of patients with Pneumocystis infection.

  • Sample Requirements

    Sample Type: alveolar lavage fluid;
    Sample Storage: room temperature (10-30°C), no more than 24 hours; refrigerated temperature (2-8°C), no more than 7 days; -15°C and below, no more than 3 years, freeze-thaw cycles no more than 5 times.

  • Storage Conditions and Validity Period

    Storage Conditions: -30°C to -15°C; the freeze-thaw cycles should not exceed 5 times.
    Validity Period: 12 months
